Description:
In this lesson, students will learn how to observe and infer using a primary source (editorial cartoon) to determine a central idea of the text and how the idea is conveyed through particular details. Students will cite textual evidence (illustrations and/or words) to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. This lesson includes strategies for diverse learners (ELLs).
