National Geographic Education sponsored the Alliances of Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, and Nevada to developed these forms for analyzing primary sources from the point of view of geographers.  The geographers and teachers of these Alliances have been working with the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources - Western Division to make these forms and this new way of analyzing material available to the wider educational community.
