A River Through Time: Focus on the Gila River

Description

In this lesson, students will learn how the Akimel O'odham have depended on the physical environment and the Gila River for their existence. They will also learn that technological modifications in one place can lead to changes in other locations by examining the damming of the Gila River and its effect upon the lifestyle of the Akimel O'odham (Pima Indians). This lesson has adaptations for diverse learners (ELLs).
