Description:
The ability to map an area is a lifelong skill. Even first graders can learn some of the basic elements of mapping by locating ant habitats in an environment familiar to them and then recording the habitats on a map. In this lesson, students will be mapping ant habitats in their schoolyard. This lesson includes strateies for diverse learners (ELLs).
