GeoDayTrip - Exploring Cultural Diversity

Join the Arizona Geographic Alliance for the no cost workshop GeoDayTrip - Exploring Cultural Diversity.  The field study will include visits to Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix and the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in north Phoenix.  Throughout the day, you will learn and record elements of culture.

When:    Saturday, January 20, 2018 | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm approximately

Where:  ASU Downtown Phoenix, Roosevelt Row - Phoenix, Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) north Phoenix

What to expect:

We will start with a classroom presentation at ASU Downtown campus and learn the elements of culture.

Then, by bus and foot, we will tour the Phoenix Arts area (Roosevelt Row) and document elements of culture with your cell phone or other digital devices (bring your device fully charged please).

Then off to MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) via bus for a scavenger hunt that will again have you find signs of culture and its diffusion from one part of the world to another.

Bus transportation and admission fees to MIM included.

It is suggested that you ride the light rail to ASU Downtown campus to avoid the hassle of parking and paying parking fees.

Lunch and parking fees are the responsibility of the participants.

Recertification hours will be given.

Participation is limited to 45 people.

Cost:   Free but you must place a $30.00 deposit which will be returned if you attend.

Deadline to Register:   In order to join us on this GeoDayTrip, we must receive your registration, including payment, no later than 11:00 pm on Sunday, January 14, 2018.

Cancellations must be made by January 14, or before, to have your deposit returned if you do not attend. Substitutions are accepted.
