Using BreakOut Boxes to Facilitate Learning

Have you heard of teaching strategies that use locked boxes to have student work together to learn material or practice skills?  Come to this workshop and see one sample using BreakOut EDU boxes and a lesson designed for 5-8 graders based on a piece of children's literature called Talking Walls.   In this example of a geography lesson, students will practice locating places using latitude and longitude, apply map directions, and read brief descriptions of world landmarks.  By working together, they will open the boxes and gain the stamp to their passport so they can travel the world.

This is a free workshop but we do require a refundable deposit to insure you attend. If you attend, the deposit will be refunded to you within 48 hours after the workshop ends.

Deadline to register: 11:00 pm, Wednesday, November 29, 2017

Deadline to request refund of deposit if you do not attend: 5:00 pm, Monday, November 27, 2017.

Substitutions welcome.
